'My BIGGGGGGGGGGG Day" # 64

Well this weekend has been great. My kids and grand kids were here for my Birthday. Yep, 64 yrs ago today I came into this world. Doctor told my Mother he didn't think I would make it through night.

It was the biggest snow storm Henrietta,Mo had seen in some time. Mom was only in her 7th month and like it or not I was coming. Doctor almost didn't make it. I was born in the big house(what we always called my grandmother two story5 bedroom house) in my grandmothers brass bed. I had no hair,no finger or toe nails,my head was bigger than my body. Skinny, all arms and legs and just 4 lbs. The Doctor then told them he didn't think I would make it through the night. Now back then all your family lived together. My great Aunt and Uncle, their son, grandmother, and my Mom (cause my Dad was in the war).My great Uncle said he wouldn't have that.So they had an old Coal furnace and over the register in the bed room he made me a kinda of incubator. Now this is a big house, there is a fire place in the bedroom and it going as well. Well Uncle Robert went and got that old coal furnace going full blast.( wonder if I could sue for black lung)Mom said he had the house so hot everyone was running around in skimpy cloths( now mind you this is 1943,how skimpy could it be) and she was throwing covers off. She said she thought it was hot enough to melt the snow all around the house about 2 ft. out. Well long story short.......My Mom took me into see the Doctor when I was three mos.and he couldn't believe it was me.(My no hair had turned to red fuzz) SOooooooo I'm a survivor. God had a plan for me and he's not finished with me yet.

Today I've had a wonderful Birthday. I've got lots of flowers, cards, emails, telephone calls, hugs and kisses. I went to Sunday school and Church. Had lunch with my Sis. Dinner last night with family. I am so BLESSED. Thank you JESUS for loving me. Also Thanks to all you in blog land for putting up with all this rambling.

Love and God bless,

Glo the 64 yr old Birthday girl.

Happy belated birthday! That is quite some birth story to tell - especially considering the doctor didn't think you would make it through the night! Wow!
